             The Southern Connecticut Chapter and the Hartford Chapter of ASM International has designated April 12-16, 2004 as Materials Week in Connecticut. A joint technical meeting will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2004. The topic will be Materials Challenges in Rocketry. Eric Knight will share information about his grandest adventure yet:  Helping to build and launch the first amateur rocket into space! The Civilian Space eXploration Team (CSXT) is getting ready for an upcoming launch of a new civilian rocket into space.  You can find out more about the upcoming space shot at http://www.civilianspace.com/. Eric will discuss the challenges and achievements in this program. 

Eric is actively involved in the first amateur space shot which will take place soon. All previous space launches have been governmental or commercial. He is also launching a program for educational institutions to give them access to space and rocketry. His new venture is Up Aerospace - you can check out his website at http://www.upaerospace.com.
