Letter from The
chairperson Dear Members: Our chapter year is progressing well. The last meeting, held jointly with the Southern Chapter, was well attended by Hartford Chapter members. We are scheduling some very interesting must attend programs coming during the rest of the year. If youve held off on coming to a meeting, this is your opportunity to get to know your fellow members, and network along with listening to interesting speakers. In March we are aiming to bring in a National Trustee speaker and in April, we are having Roger Crouch, Chief Scientist for the International Space Station, pay a return visit to Hartford in conjunction with Materials Week in Connecticut and a special program with the Hartford public schools. The meeting will be held at UCONN and give us an opportunity to tour the material science facilities. In May, our annual UCONN student speaker contest and a special plant tour in June. We have already added a couple of new sustaining members to our roster and are always looking to add more. Is your company a candidate? The benefits are numerous. Call Stu Weiss for more information. Anyone wishing to be added to the e-mail distribution of this newsletter can do so by contacting Arnie Grot at ArnieG1457@aol.com If you havent checked out the web site for this chapter, wont you please take a moment and do so. On behalf of the Officers and the Executive Committee, I want to take this opportunity to wish all of our members and friends and their families a HEALTHY AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON.
