CHAIRMAN'S LETTER

We end the current year in celebration, recognition and renewed hope. Our June 11 meeting is our annual Awards Night on which we recognize our members who have reached 5, 10, 25, 50 years and Life membership milestones this year. It is also our Sustaining Member Night. We honor our Chapter Sustaining members who give a little more each year to support our society. We will also recognize the winner of the 2002 Hartford Chapter $1,000 scholarship and celebrate the selection of the delegates from our area who will be attending Materials Camp this summer.

June 11 marks nine months after the horrific attacks to the World Trade Center in NY and the Pentagon in Washington, DC. September 11 caused us to rethink our definition of heroism in the face of Terrorism. Terrorism is driven by fear and ignorance. Heroes overcome both. Understanding and knowledge drives out fear and ignorance. Our society promotes under-standing through networking and assimilates knowledge through our pro-grams, meetings and tours. This is a time of renewed hope.

After September 11, our President asked us to be bold; to boldly get back to normal living. We had to reach inside for the courage to resume living. Our Chapter was blessed with many members who really had a formula to
REACH!

RENEW your commitment to living fully everyday!
ENVISION your dreams and succeed!
AWAKEN your potential and achieve!
CREATE limitless possibilities for yourself and others!
HORIZONS...they are endless..explore!

How is your reach?
