TECHNICAL MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

TOPIC: Biodiesel and the State of the Energy Industry
The talk will review the
global energy picture including American oil dependency and pollution issues.
Price-at-the-pump issues will be discussed and the rising cost of fuel in all
forms.
The main focus of the talk
will be the present state of diesel engine technology vs. older diesel
technology. Production techniques for biodiesel fuel and the use of this fuel
source will be discussed. Also, the benefits of biodiesel vs. petrodiesel fuel.
Other areas will be reviewed
including the engine requirements that are needed to run biodiesel fuel. The
feedstock(s) for biodiesel will be reviewed and discussed as well as the
transportation of this new fuel.
SPEAKER: Christopher Carr, President & CEO
F & S Oil and Propane,
Fairfield, CT
Mr. Carr is a CPA with over
25 years experience in the fuel oil, propane and chemical industries. In the
early 1980s, he worked for Publicker Industries, at the time the largest
producer of ethanol enriched fuel on the East Coast. In 1985, he joined Fuel
Tech Inc. of Stamford, CT, a manufacturer of combustion equipment and pollution
control chemicals. They developed the low NOX venture designed combustion
systems which are used in utility and industrial applications across the country.
He joined F & S in 2003
as CFO and became CEO recently.
Mr. Carr is a Villanova
University graduate and is on the board of the Independent Connecticut
Petroleum Dealers Association, a member of the National Biodiesel Board
and a director of the N.E.
Propane Foundation.
