In 1983 Gary Became President of Index Corporation, which is one
of the
prime machine tool importers from Germany, and has recently
started
manufacturing in Stratford, CT. He has been a strong advocate of
vocational
training and has served on many related boards, including
National Employed
Leadership, Working Group Executive Committee, School-to-Work
Advisory
Council, and the University of Connecticut's EUROTECH Advisory
Board.
On November 6, 1998, Gary Sihler was awarded the Degreee of
Doctor of
Science, honoris causa, for his involvement in the School-to-Career
program.

As the leader of a leading supplier to the
materials industry, Gary Sihler
