The Southern Connecticut Chapter of ASM International will hold its next technical dinner meeting Thursday, November 15, 2001. At this meeting the Chapter is pleased to present as the featured speaker Mr. Thomas Schmidt , Division Manager, TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc., Northbrook, IL. As Manager of the Pressure Equipment & Material Technology Division, Mr. Schmidt supplies service and support to North American Industries for Pressure Equipment and Material certification/approvals for their product acceptance in the International Market Place. His activity includes codes/standards consulting; product design review; manufacturing facility approval. Previously, Mr. Schmidt worked for TUV Organizations - Republic of Germany, a third party inspection company with authorization through the German government to perform in various capacities. Mr. Schmidt has a degree in Mechanical Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from University of Bochum, Bochum, Germany and a degree as a European Welding Engineer from Deutscher Verband für Schweisstechnik. Thomas Schmidt's vast experience and knowledge of the Quality Assurance field will make his talk an enjoyable, interesting and informative technical dinner presentation for members and guests of the Chapter.
