MEETING NOTICE
The Southern
Connecticut Chapter of ASM International will hold its March technical
dinner meeting Thursday, November 20,
2003.
Digital Photomicroscopy, by Christopher
Rinaldi, Imaging
Specialist of Excel Technologies, Inc.
Carl will assist Chris in demonstrating state of the art technology in Digital
Photomicroscopy. Chris graduated with a BS in Computer Information
Systems from Bentley College in Waltham, MA in 1999. After working in the internet industry for nearly two years, Chris
rejoined Excel Technologies in 2001, where he has been working intensively with
imaging systems ever since. Chris's presentation will provide a short review on different
types of imaging solutions available for acquiring, managing and publishing
images, including measurement and analysis of metallographic images or
microscopic images in general. He
will then apply his company's Archive4Images (A4I) software with images
generated by camera to demonstrate one of the latest imaging solutions for
applications in digital photomicroscopy. Carl
Rinaldi's experience and knowledge of imaging software and its application to
microscopic imaging systems will make this meeting an interesting and
informative technical dinner presentation for ASM members and guests.
