meeting with ASM, NHMA, SMA) TOPIC: Forensic Engineering and Materials
Failure A look at the role of
forensic engineering in forensic science today, with emphasis on
materials-centered failure analysis in a variety of settings, including
buildings, aircraft, and automobiles. Litigation issues are also analyzed.
Dr. Sommers
is a Professor of Industrial Engineering at the University of New Haven, and a specialist in forensic engineering in the
Department of Forensic Science. He teaches the two introductory courses in
forensic engineering offered in the M.S. in Forensic Science program. Dr. Sommers
is also Coordinator of the Logistics Certificate program. He is a past
