The Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology program is a recently initiated effort to create a new technology center to be located in the Hartford region.
The project is in its early stage of development and has just recently established offices in East Hartford. The press release describing the establishment of the program is attached.
Key objective is to establish a Connecticut based, world-class scientific institution that brings together resources from academia, government and private industry.
Desired outcome is to promote regional and national economic development while supporting national defense needs.
Potential technologies for focus include propulsion, fuel cells, photonics, manufacturing, materials and biotechnology.
Current activities include the following:
• Contact and familiarize potential stakeholders (industry, academia, government)
• Identify existent and regional capabilities
• Identify US defense and technology needs
• Benchmark existent organizations and best practices
